It is with deep sadness and shock that we learned of the sudden passing of Jeremy Duncan Nicholson of Balvenie, one of our Clan stalwarts, while on holiday in Milan, Italy.
We first met Jeremy when he was living in Australia about 40 years ago and again at the Skye Gathering in 1995 when he was accompanying his parents, Burke and Juliet, and Uncle Harman. He has been a big part of our lives ever since.
Jeremy was a Chieftain in Clan MacNicol, Chairman of the Clan MacNicol Federation, President of Clan MacNicol North America, a Trustee of Urras Clann MhicNeacail, Patron and honorary President of the Dufftown Highland Games, and Baron of Balvenie.
Jeremy's contribution to our Clan was immense, way beyond the positions he held, and I will miss his support, his advice, but most of all, his friendship. Our Clan is much poorer for his passing and he will be greatly missed by all.

15 March 2024: Update: The viewing for Jeremy Nicholson, President of Clan MacNicol Society of North America, Chairman of the Clan MacNicol Federation and Baron of Balvenie will take place on Tuesday evening, 19 March 2024 at Northside Chapel Funeral Home, 12050 Crabapple Road, Roswell, GA 30075.
The funeral will take place on Wednesday morning at Birmingham United Methodist Church, 15770 Birmingham Hwy, Milton, GA 30004. Live stream will be available.
The time is being settled on but Jeremy's family is looking at 11:00 am, EST. More information will be announced as it is provided.
